Many of Brassai’s photographs was taken at night, focusing on the way the streetlights gave a whole new look to the city of Paris. His photos use ambient light in the background to stream through at show off beautiful architecture. In this photo, I noticed that the way the light from the sunset was hitting the beach chairs completely changed their look. The curved tops and the repetition of the chairs, remind me of the Parisian bridges that Brassai loved so much. The single occupant sitting alone adds a sense of emotion to the photograph, making it more than just a still life.
