Ansel Adams is best known for his commissioned work taking photos of the National Parks. His photos were hallmarked by every little detail of the subject being sharply focused.
To get a photo like this, I brought my camera with me in my trip to Cannon Beach, Oregon. In the picture is Haystack Rock. The silhouette lends itself to black and white photography as well as a large depth of field.
Also as a nod to Adams’ style of photography, I intentionally chose not to crop out the other tourists in the shot. The reality of being in a public and beautiful setting.
